Head Coach Christine Core

Christine Core joined Lincoln University as the head softball coach in June of 2018. She recently finished up her first season and is eager to continue to build the program into one of consistency and competitiveness within the upcoming years. During her first season at Lincoln, her team compiled three conference wins, which is the most since 2016. Additionally, the 2019 season at Lincoln was the best overall record finish since 2014.

Core comes to Lincoln from Covenant College, where she was the head coach for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. During her time at Covenant as head coach, Core won 45 games, which led to her becoming the first coach in program history to lead the Lady Scots to back-to-back winning seasons. Covenant qualified for the postseason both years, with four players earning All-USA South honors.

An alumna of Covenant, Core returned to her alma mater as a full-time assistant coach in 2016 and helped turn around the program. After winning 28 total games from 2013-15, the Lady Scots compiled 63 victories since the start of the 2016 season and went 27-29 in conference play.

Core began her coaching career at Dade County High in Trenton, Georgia in 2012, and led the program to three-straight state tournament appearances, highlighted by a Georgia High School Association Class AA championship in her first season. Core was named as the GACA Coach of the Year that season, as well as the Georgia Dugout Club Coach of the Year. Core followed that phenomenal debut season by coaching Dade County to an Elite Eight appearance in the state tournament in 2013.

During her four-year playing career at Covenant, Core earned NCCAA All-American first team honors, NCCAA Regional Player of the Year accolades and was selected to the NCCAA All-Tournament Team. Core holds Covenant's single-season (26) and career (59) records for stolen bases, and is fourth in program history with 162 hits.

Core, who also started 42 games during a three-year basketball career at Covenant, graduated in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in English.
